What Will Motivate Us to Actually Connect with One Another, If Not a Pandemic?

Before the pandemic began, many of us, regardless of age, received more dings on our phone than knocks at our door. We opted for self-checkout machines instead of cashiers and asked for the WIFI password as soon as we check into a hotel. Should we to go back to normal or create a new normal? I vote for the latter.
